ESS 3320 - Project Assignments
Biomechanical Analysis Project
Grade Value: 5% for Oral Presentation, 5% for Written Work and Technology Skill Development.
For your semester activity assignment part of your grade, you will be assigned a biomechanical analysis activity based on one of the 60 biomechanical principles that we will cover during the semester.

You will need to video or find an existing video (ie: Youtube) and construct a biomechanical analysis with specific components of the mechanical principle that you have been assigned from the princile link above. Dr. Pankey will give you more specific directions on this semester project during the semester. A PowerPoint Paper Printout will be required of you, with 4 to 6 Slides on Paper, Due to handed in to Dr. Pankey prior to your presentation (4-6 slides per page + reference page as your final slide). Group presenters should meet in class 15 minutes prior to the beginning of class in order to load up your presentation on the PC or Mac computer in the classroom.

DUE DATE: On the date that you are assigned to give an oral presentation of your assigned activity:

Semester Activity Presentation Assigned Group - To Be Determined After First Week of School). Dates For Presentations: On the date listed by your group, you will be responsible for performing a 5 minute presentation to the class on your mechanical principle (See Example Link below for more specific information)

Group A (Mar. 28)

Group B (Mar. 30)

Group C (Apr. 4)

Group D (Apr. 18)

Group E (April 20)
Note: Semester Activity Assignment Principles are shown in the following LINK below.

11:00 a.m. Class - Spring 2017

2:00 p.m. Class - Spring 2017
As an example, you may have an assigned mechanical principle that would require you to video an activity that can be digitized on the Computer and used to clearly show the movement sequence in four to five phases.

For your written and oral project, each student will be responsible for providing Dr. Pankey with 1) a PowerPoint set of slides, printed out, from the assigned mechanical principle assigned, and 2) an oral presentation of the PowerPoint slides and analysis from the Motion Analysis program in the Biomechanics lab (DR. PANKEY WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO PERFORM AN ANALYSIS OF YOUR MECHANICAL PRINCIPLE OF INTEREST).
