Your semester project presentation should be a PowerPoint Presentation and should look something like the above presentation. You may embed JPG formatted pictures or digital movies to express your point. Your presentation should be 5 to 7 slides, explaining your mechanical principles. You should have the following, but not limited to these examples slides:
1. An Introduction
2. An explanation of the mechanical principle
3. An application of this principle to a sport or recreation activity
4. A calculation or mechanical illustration showing how this principle could theoretically be proven
5. Examples of other activities where this principle could be taught or utilized in practice
6. Common errors or exceptions
7. A reference page to conclude (APA format recommended)
Things to be aware of:
On the day of your presentation.... Report 15 minutes early and have your presentation saved on a flash drive (memory stick) or CD, so we can download your presentation to the computer prior to class.
If you are going to embed a movie into a PowerPoint slide, be sure you have it saved in a AVI format and that you nest the movie in a folder that contains your PowerPoint presentation.
You will be evaluated on your ability to speak clearly, and your knowledge of the subject matter you have been assigned. Additionally, you MUST turn in a print-out of your slides (preferrably 3 to a page) from your presentation to Dr. Pankey prior to your presentation.
