Origin = Inferior angle of the scapula.

Insertion = Anterior portion of the humerus, just medial to the insertion of the tendon of the latissimus dorsi

Action = When resistance is applied to the arm, and when positions are assumed and held, the muscle adducts, extends and inwardly rotates.
