Gluteus Maximus
Origin = Gluteal line of ilium and adjacent portion of th eiliac crest; posterior surface of the sacrum; and the side of the coccyx.
Insertion = Posterior portion of the femur below the greater trochanter; iliobibial tract of the fascia lata.
Action = Extends, hyperextends, and outwardly rotates the hip joint.
