1. I have read this syllabus and understand the policies and procedures established for this course.

2. I understand that my grade will based on the accumulation of points earned through my performance on the exams and quizzes as well as participation in class discussion, completion of study guides, and organization of all PowerPoint notes and study guides into a folder.

3. I understand that if I am absent more than 4 times, I will receive a grade of "F" for the course, and that under such circumstances, it would be advisable for me to drop the course. The deadline for dropping a course is Listed in the University Schedule.

4. I understand that there are no make-ups for missed exams in this course. I understand that if a conflict arises and I must be absent on the day of an exam, I will contact Dr. Pankey prior to or immediately after the examination.

5. I understand that the final exam can ONLY be taken Date of Finals.

6. I have had the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered, and I have the instructor's e-mail address, office phone number, and know where his office is if I need to ask questions later.

7. Most of all, I understand that I am required to turn my cell phone off before coming to class.

8. I understand that I will adhere to the University Honor Code (See Student Honor Code.).

8. Lastly, I understand that to increase my chances of making an "A" in this course, I will have to do most, if not all, of the following:

attend every class,

print out notes before coming to class,

print out and complete study guides,

take all quizzes,

maintain a well-organized class folder,

study before taking quizzes,

read before coming to class (then re-read after class),

create study groups,

make appointments with Dr. Pankey if there are any questions about class content, policies or procedures

take good notes,

re-write notes,

ask questions in class, and

participate in class discussions.
